Kenda Carlson

Director of People, Culture & Impact at WeSpire

Kenda Carlson has held a diverse range of roles in the corporate and non-profit sectors. In 2005, they served as an AmeriCorps NCCC Corps Member, for which they were awarded both the Presidential Volunteer Service Award and the Congressional Award in 2006. In 2006, they became the Corporate Projects Manager at Hands On New Orleans, launching a local affiliate of the national non-profit and developing organizational policies, procedures, and a strategic plan. From 2008 to 2015, they worked at the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship, where they served as the Associate Director of Programs and Events, Event and Program Content Manager, and Member Services Specialist. In 2015, they became a Certified Yoga Instructor at Sadhana yoga. Since 2016, they have been employed at WeSpire, where they have held the roles of Director of People, Culture & Impact, Senior Lead, Go To Market, Senior Manager, Consulting & Content, and Senior Manager, Customer Success. In their current role, they identify pain points in the employee experience and develops programs to address them, as well as oversees recruiting and hiring, leads company Town Hall meetings and quarterly retreats, and manages inclusive culture engagement calendars.

Kenda Carlson holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Art from Lafayette College. In April 2020, they obtained a certification in Developing a Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Program from LinkedIn.
