Caitlin Bassett

Caitlin Bassett is a seasoned sports journalist currently employed at The West Australian since February 2024. Prior to this role, Caitlin served as the Player Development Manager for Female Programs at Cricket NSW from June 2022 to February 2024. Caitlin has a robust background as a professional athlete, notably captaining the Australian Diamonds from 2017 to 2021, and competing for various netball clubs, including the Sunshine Coast Lightning and West Coast Fever. In addition to athletic pursuits, Caitlin has experience in media as a radio show host and freelance columnist, and has also been involved in the sustainable food industry as a Brand Partner and Owner at Purity Plant Protein. Caitlin holds a Bachelor of Communications in Broadcast Journalism from Edith Cowan University, earned in 2021.
