Tony Vermeer

Tony Vermeer is an experienced media professional, currently serving as the Assistant Editor at The West Australian since April 2021. Prior to this role, Tony held the position of News Editor at the Daily Telegraph from October 2017 to February 2021, and served as the Director of News at NewsLocal Newspapers from May 2012 to October 2017. From 2004 to 2012, Tony was the News Editor for the Sunday Telegraph. Earlier in their career, Tony was the Editor-in-Chief and Canberra Bureau Chief at Australian Associated Press (AAP) from 1994 to 2004.
