Kate Dempster

Kate Dempster, JD, CPCU, AIC, currently holds the position of AVP - Claims Legal at West Bend Insurance Company, overseeing the Claims Legal and Major Case Unit teams since October 2025. Prior to this, Kate served as Coverage Litigation Coordinator at Beazley, where coordination of entity-level coverage litigation was emphasized. Kate's extensive experience at EMC Insurance Companies included roles such as Claims Legal Coverage Director, Coverage & Complex Claims Director, and Coverage Manager, managing various legal teams and handling complex coverage matters. Previous experience includes partnership at Traub Lieberman Straus & Shrewsberry LLP, focusing on insurance coverage and professional liability defense, and practicing civil litigation at the Law Offices of Michael Murphy Tannen, P.C. Kate's legal education includes a Doctor of Law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and a cum laude Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Dayton.
