Tim Dougherty

Tim Dougherty is an Associate Professor of English at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, a position held since August 2019, following a tenure as Assistant Professor from August 2014 to July 2019. With a strong background in teaching writing, Tim covers general education and upper division undergraduate courses, including first-year composition, research writing, rhetorical theory and history, and social movement rhetoric. Tim earned a Ph.D. in Composition and Cultural Rhetoric from Syracuse University in 2014, and a Master's degree in Rhetoric and Scientific and Technical Communication from the University of Minnesota in 2010. Tim’s initial education includes a Bachelor's degree in English with a focus on Creative Writing from Penn State University. Additional experience includes teaching as a Graduate Instructor at the University of Minnesota and serving in community and civic engagement roles.
