Micah Whitlow began their work experience in 2001 as a Project Manager and Designer at WSG Architects, where they designed and created construction documents for educational facilities in West Virginia. Micah also managed various projects in marketing, construction documentation, and educational planning. In 2015, Whitlow transitioned to the role of Drafting and Graphic Design Instructor at Carver Career and Technical Education Center, where they aligned learning objectives with student performance and successfully obtained grant awards. In 2019, they became Compliance Coordinator at the same institution, overseeing program compliance and managing the school's technology plan and budget. Whitlow recently joined the West Virginia Department of Education in 2020 as the School Facilities Services Director, where they review policies and assists counties with implementing facility-related initiatives. Micah is responsible for plan reviews, school closure reviews, and ensuring compliance with the WVBE.

Micah Whitlow earned a Master's degree in Adult Training and Education from Marshall University, which they pursued from 2016 to 2018. In addition, they also completed a Master's degree in Technology Management with a focus on Project Management and Quality Control at Marshall University, which they pursued from 2016 to 2017. Prior to their Master's degrees, Micah Whitlow attended Fairmont State College from 1996 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering with a specialization in Architecture.
