Gary Furbee

Gary Furbee, II serves as the Deputy General Counsel and Associate Vice President of Real Estate Operations at West Virginia University since March 2008. In this role, Gary provides executive leadership across various legal areas, including athletics and business transactions, while overseeing the university's real estate operations, including leasing and management of commercial and residential properties. Previous positions at West Virginia University include Deputy General Counsel, Interim General Counsel, and Attorney for Students. Gary has also worked as West Virginia State Counsel for Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, where responsibilities included strategic advice and drafting legal forms. A graduate of West Virginia University College of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence, Gary also holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from West Virginia University.
