James Wilcox

James Wilcox has extensive experience in the maritime industry, currently serving as a Pilot/Partner at Independent Pilot Services since 2019, specializing in federal piloting for flat tows and complex vessel movements. Additionally, James is a Part Owner at Mare Island Maritime, where operations focus on marine transportation and logistics involving tugs. With a strong background in vessel operations, James holds the position of Master at Westar Marine Services, while also managing operations at Greger Pacific Marine. Previous roles include Master positions at Andrie LLC, Crowley, and Sause Bros. as well as a Master and Marine Superintendent at Hamilton Marine Construction. Educational credentials include degrees from California State University Maritime Academy and University of Portland, along with an engineering background from Benson Polytechnic.
