Terry Kirchner

Terry Kirchner serves as the Executive Director at Westchester Library System since 2009, focusing on empowering communities and organizations to collaborate for positive change. Previously, Terry held the position of Director of Access Services at Columbia University from 2005 to 2008, where efforts were made to enhance student learning through interdepartmental partnerships. Additionally, Terry was the Chief of Access & Reader Services at the New York Public Library from 1997 to 2005, facilitating connections to information for lifelong learning. Early career roles included Head of Access Services for the Science & Engineering Libraries at Columbia University from 1993 to 1996, supporting academic achievements for students and faculty. Terry's educational background includes a PhD in Human Development from Fielding Graduate University, an MBA in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Baruch College, an MLIS in Library Science from Rutgers University, and a BA in Communication and Media Studies from Elmhurst University.
