Paul Schatz

Director Research And Development at Westell Technologies

Paul Schatz has a diverse and extensive work experience in various engineering roles. Paul started their career at Northrop Grumman - Astro Aerospace as an Electrical Engineer. Paul then worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where they researched and demonstrated fiber optic sub-carrier multiplexed systems. Paul then moved on to ADC, where they held multiple roles including Senior Electrical Engineer and Senior Engineering Manager. During their time at ADC, they led engineering teams in the development of FlexwaveTM indoor and outdoor product platforms and implemented advanced technology programs.

In 2000, Paul joined Ciena as a Senior Electrical Engineer and led important initiatives such as the development of a 10Gb/s client-side MSA transponder and improving the optical budget for the core transport platform. Paul also played a crucial role in solving manufacturing defects.

Paul later joined TE Connectivity, where they served as a Director of Engineering and Senior Engineering Manager. Paul led various global engineering initiatives, including the ownership of complex distributed antenna systems (DAS) product lifecycle. Paul improved engineering efficiency, implemented LEAN and AGILE processes, and worked closely with customers to develop product roadmap strategies aligned with their needs.

After TE Connectivity, Paul joined PRS Coherence Company as the Vice President of Technical Strategy. In this role, they provided consultation on strategic product development and technical requirements between internal resources and key customers.

Most recently, Paul is working at Westell as the Director of Research and Development.

Paul Schatz attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, where they pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering. During their time at the university, their field of study included RF, Photonics, and Communications.
