Stephanie Dowd currently serves as a Mindfulness Facilitator for University of Rhode Island Athletics, where mindfulness practices are taught to collegiate athletes to enhance mental health and performance. Dowd has extensive experience in the nursing field, currently working as a School Nurse for North Kingstown School District and as a Registered Nurse for Westerly Public Schools. Dowd’s previous roles include Registered Nurse positions at Hasbro Children's Hospital and University of Massachusetts Medical Center, providing care to pediatric patients. In addition, Dowd has been self-employed as a Registered Nurse and Mindfulness Teacher since January 1990. From August 2023 to June 2024, Dowd teaches mindfulness and social-emotional skills to low-income elementary students through Inspiring Minds. Notably, from October 2009 to December 2017, Dowd assisted in surgical procedures in a doctor's office and later served as court-appointed administrator for practice closure. Dowd holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rhode Island College.
