Michael Rains

Michael Rains is an experienced finance and risk management professional with a diverse background spanning multiple industries. Currently serving as the SVP of FCC Models at Western Alliance Bank since March 2018, Michael leads initiatives in AML, fraud, sanctions, and risk for both virtual and traditional assets. Prior experience includes ownership of Regen Tech, where Michael developed technology solutions for financial services, and roles at Bank of the West and BMO Financial Group focused on AML compliance and enterprise risk. With earlier positions at Google and Amazon involving capacity planning and process improvement, along with a military background in operations management, Michael combines strong analytical expertise with operational excellence. Michael holds an MBA in Finance and Energy from Rice Business and a BA in History from The University of Texas at Austin, along with an associate's degree in Culinary Science from Johnson & Wales University.
