Kevin Schulz has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Kevin started their career at Andersen Consulting, LLC in 1996, where they led LAN/WAN network engineering staff and managed IT infrastructure projects. Kevin then joined REN, Inc. in 1999 as a Partner/Director of Technology and Senior Project Manager, where they were responsible for various IT projects and implemented numerous IT infrastructure solutions. In 2003, they became the IT Infrastructure Manager at Pacific Western Technologies, LTD. Finally, in 2008, they joined Western Area Power Administration, where they held roles such as Supervisory Information Technology Specialist and currently serves as the Vice President of IT - Cyber Security and Chief Information Security Officer.

Kevin Schulz attended Lamar Community College from 1981 to 1983, where they obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Business. Kevin then went on to Metropolitan State University of Denver from 1983 to 1986, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Management Science. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) from GIAC Certifications in August 2015. Kevin also obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in November 2019. Most recently, in February 2020, they received the Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) certification from GIAC Certifications, and in August 2019, they obtained the GIAC Information Security Professional (GISP) certification, also from GIAC Certifications.
