Gordon Hew

Gordon Hew has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. Gordon currently works as a Front Office Software Engineer at Western Asset Management, starting in February 2023. Prior to this role, they held several positions at PIMCO, including Vice President, Senior Developer - Strategy Tagging and Attribution from January 2023 to January 2023, and Senior Developer - Strategy Tagging and Attribution from April 2017 to December 2022.

Gordon also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences from August 2021 to December 2021. Earlier in their career, they served as an Associate at Morgan Stanley from April 2014 to April 2017. Before that, they held various roles at Goldman Sachs, including Senior Analyst Developer, GSAM Trading Core Technology from January 2012 to April 2014, Analyst Developer, GSAM Trading Core Technology from May 2010 to December 2011, and Analyst Developer, Goldman Sachs Investment Partners Technology from November 2009 to May 2010.

Prior to their time at Goldman Sachs, Gordon was an Associate at NYSE Technologies from August 2007 to November 2009. Gordon also worked as an Associate Consultant at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) from June 2006 to August 2007 and as a Jr. Web Developer at Lake 5 Media from May 2005 to June 2006.

Gordon Hew has an extensive education history spanning across multiple institutions and fields of study.

Gordon began their academic journey at Brooklyn Technical High School, where they completed their high school education from 1997 to 2001 with a focus on Chemistry.

Following their graduation from high school, Gordon enrolled at Stony Brook University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Political Science. Gordon attended the university from 2001 to 2005.

Building upon their undergraduate studies, Gordon pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at Columbia University. Gordon attended Columbia from 2007 to 2011.

Seeking to broaden their knowledge and skills, Gordon continued their education at the Harvard Extension School, where they obtained two master's degrees. From 2016 to 2018, they pursued a Master of Liberal Arts in Extension Studies with a focus on Management. Then, from 2019 to 2022, Gordon pursued a Masters in Liberal Arts in Extension Studies with a specialization in Data Science.

Looking to deepen their understanding of Financial Mathematics, Gordon is set to embark on another academic endeavor. Starting in 2023, they will be attending The Johns Hopkins University to pursue a Master of Science - MS in Financial Mathematics.

In addition to their formal education, Gordon has also obtained a certification as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in August 2022.
