Richard Ong

Richard Ong is an experienced finance professional with a strong background in mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and trading. Currently serving as a Senior MBS Settlements Specialist at Western Asset Management since October 2011, Richard has developed expertise in settlements and market-making for GSE-issued MBS. Previous roles include a Research Analyst Intern at Anfield Capital Management, a Proprietary Equities Trader at Assent LLC, and an MBS Agency Pass-Through Trader at Countrywide Securities, where Richard provided liquidity to institutional clients and executed high-volume trades. Richard began trading in the financial markets as an Equities Trader at Tradescape and previously worked as a Trade Management Associate at PIMCO, handling trade processing and settlement of various fixed income securities. Richard holds an MBA in Finance from the University of California, Irvine, and a degree from the University of California, Riverside.
