Global, EM & Multi-asset Credit: Product Strategist at Western Asset

Robert Abad began their work experience in 1991 as an Emerging Markets Debt Analyst at Merrill Lynch. Robert then worked as an Assistant Portfolio Manager at Global Emerging Markets Advisors, L.P. from 1995 to 1999. In 1999, they joined Fiduciary Trust Company as an Investment Strategist in the Emerging Markets Debt division. From 2002 to 2006, Robert worked at Citi as a Credit/Market Risk Manager. In 2006, they became a Portfolio Manager for Emerging Markets Debt at Western Asset Management, a role they held until 2015. During their time at Western Asset Management, they also served as a Product Strategist for Global & MAC Solutions. In 2015, Robert founded their own company called EM+BRACE. Robert also served as a Board of Trustees Member at Sequoyah School from 2014 to 2020. Additionally, Robert was an Advisory Board Member and Adjunct Professor at the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management from 2011 to 2018. Before their career in finance, Robert worked as a Research Consultant for UNDP in 1995.

Robert Abad completed their education at various institutions. Robert earned a Bachelor of Science degree from NYU Stern School of Business between the years 1985 and 1989. In 1981, they attended Regis High School. Later on, they pursued higher education at Columbia University, where they obtained a Master's in International Affairs from Columbia | SIPA and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) specializing in Finance, General from Columbia Business School.
