Katrina Walton has extensive experience in public administration and policy development, currently serving as the Assistant Director for Biodiversity and Conservation Science at the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions since May 2021. Prior roles include serving as Principal Policy Officer in various departments, focusing on key areas such as Commonwealth Approval Bilateral Negotiations and COVID-19 response. Walton held the position of Director at the Department of the Premier and Cabinet of WA from January 2015 to March 2020 and worked at ChemCentre as Science Business Manager and Principal Chemist from June 2000 to January 2015. Education includes an Executive Master of Public Administration from the Australia and New Zealand School of Government and a Bachelor of Applied Science (BSc) Hons in Chemistry from Curtin University.
