Amber Clawson Albert

Amber Clawson Albert is a seasoned professional in the field of history and public engagement, currently serving as the Director of the Mountain Heritage Center at Western Carolina University since February 2023. Prior experience includes a role as the Manager of Community and Academic Learning at the Reynolda House Museum of American Art, where curriculum-based interdisciplinary experiences were designed in collaboration with regional educational institutions. As Executive Director at the Historical Association of Catawba County, significant contributions were made to the preservation of historic sites and community outreach efforts. Additional roles, including Graduate Research Assistant at Middle Tennessee State University's Center for Historic Preservation and Communication and Development Assistant for Drayton Hall, complemented a robust academic background, featuring a Ph.D. in Public/Applied History from MTSU and an M.A. in History from the College of Charleston.
