Bea Houston is the Director of Transitional Education at Western Iowa Tech Community College, overseeing the Comet Learning Center and the Academic Center for Excellence to support student success. With extensive experience as Project Manager for a $5 million Title III Completion Initiative Grant, Bea focuses on enhancing developmental education and personalizing learning paths through technology. Additionally, as an Activity Director and Faculty Development Specialist, Bea is committed to guiding students from initial enrollment to graduation. The academic career includes serving as a Spanish Instructor, teaching various formats and advising the Spanish Club, alongside previous experience at Remsen Union Community School. Bea holds a Master's degree in Teaching with a focus on Technology-Based Learning from Morningside University and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education/Spanish from Briar Cliff University, with ongoing coursework towards a Master's degree in Spanish Language and Literature at the University of Northern Iowa.
