Sam Jawad

As Head of Ecosystem, Sam Jawad oversees the development and expansion of Western Union’s banking ecosystem businesses, as the Company focuses on providing a broader set of banking and financial services products to its customers around the globe.

Most recently, Sam was the EVP and Global Head of Banking at ACI Worldwide, where he oversaw all aspects of the P&L, initiated and led ACI's banks modernization strategy, and led and managed global investment efforts. Prior to ACI, Sam was the founding CEO of a Canadian Banks joint venture in digital payments, and was also the President of Chase Paymentech Solutions, Canada and globally. He also held several senior management positions in both card issuing and merchant acquiring and was CEO of First Data Loan Company.

Sam is a board member of Smooth Commerce Inc., and an advisor to Dream Payments. He has served on the Board of Wealth One Bank, on the Visa Canada Advisory Board, and on the Canadian Bankers Association Payments Committee. He also serves on the Board of Big Brother Big Sister Toronto and the SickKids Hospital Business Advisory Board. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business from Concordia University.
