Matt Davison

Dean Faculty of Science at Western University

Dr. Matt Davison is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Science at Western University. Prior to this, they were a Professor and Canada Research Chair at the University of Western Ontario from May 2006 to June 2016. Matt's research is focused on energy finance, risk management, and portfolio optimization, as well as industrial mathematics.

From 1997 to 1999, Dr. Davison worked as an Assistant Vice President at Deutsche Bank Canada in their internal equity arbitrage group. Matt then returned to Western University where they have held various positions including Acting Associate Dean of Science (Administration) from November 2013 to May 2014, and Member of the Academic Advisory Board at Mapleridge Capital Corporation from January 2008 to December 2012.

Matt Davison has a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Western University and a B.A.Sc. in Engineering Science (Geophysics) from the University of Toronto.

They work with Jayne Garland - Dean Faculty of Health Sciences, Ken Coley - Dean Faculty of Engineering, and Davy Cheng - Acting Dean Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. Matt Davison reports to Andrew N. Hrymak, Provost & VP Academic.
