Kate Platts has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Kate currently holds the position of Vice Chair on the Advisory Committee at the British Nutrition Foundation, where they have been a member since 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Westfield Health, starting as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associate in 2019 and later becoming the Head of Research & Innovation. At Sheffield Hallam University, they held various roles including Visiting Researcher at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre and Specialist Visiting Lecturer at Sheffield Business School. From 2012 to 2018, they worked at the Youth Sport Trust, serving as Commercial Director, Managing Director of the trading subsidiary, and Head of Marketing. Earlier in their career, they worked at Markerstudy Insurance as a Group Marketing & Communications Executive and at Messe Frankfurt GmbH in various communication and public relations roles.
Kate Platts has a diverse education history. In 1991-1994, they attended London Metropolitan University and obtained a BSc in Applied Social Science with a focus on Policy Studies. Later, in 2009-2010, they pursued a Certificate in Transactional Analysis Counseling & Psychotherapy at the Wealden Institute. Their latest academic achievement was in 2018-2019 at Sheffield Hallam University, where they obtained an MSc in Nutrition with Public Health Management, with a distinction. Kate also holds various additional certifications, including an Innovation Strategy Course, a Social Value & SROI Practitioner Training, and a CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management & Leadership. Kate is also an Associate Registered Nutritionist and has training in Motivational Interviewing and Yoga Instruction.
