Joe Kennedy has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Joe started their career at Hewitt, where they served as the Market Leader for their Pittsburgh and Cleveland offices from 1996 to 2003. After that, they joined Mercer and held various positions including Office Leader, Region Administrative Business Leader, and Region Client Manager from 2003 to 2009. Kennedy then moved on to become the Director for the US region at Morneau Shepell from 2009 to 2011. Joe later joined Westinghouse Electric Company as Vice President, Global Benefits, Retirement, Compensation, and Mobility in 2011. Currently, Kennedy is serving as the President of 53 North, LLC since 2016. Additionally, they also served as the Board Chair for the Southwest Pennsylvania chapter of the American Red Cross from 2007 to 2010.

Joe Kennedy attended Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business from 1997 to 2001, where they earned an MBA. Joe also studied at West Virginia University, focusing on Industrial Relations for their MSIR degree. In addition, they obtained a BS in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh.
