Joe Sy

Joe Sy serves as the Director of New Ventures at Westlake, focusing on investments in innovative startups and technologies that promote new materials and the circular economy since January 2022. Prior to this role, Joe was an Investment Manager at 547 Energy, where responsibilities included deploying private equity and venture capital in cleantech and energy transition projects on behalf of Quantum Capital Group. Joe’s experience includes an Associate role in Investment Banking M&A Advisory at Evercore, where Joe contributed to twenty-four transactions totaling $50 billion, as well as project development and business development positions at Zilkha Biomass Energy. Joe began career in corporate finance and risk management with roles at FTI Consulting and Grant Thornton. Education includes an MBA and a BA in Cognitive Science and Managerial Studies from Rice University.
