Kimberly Otero has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Kimberly started their career in 1983 as a Supervisor at the Student Conservation Association, where they recruited and led a trail crew for 3 summers. Kimberly then worked as an Interpretive Park Ranger at the National Park Service from 1986 to 1991, where they developed educational programs, prepared information materials, and managed the fire program. In 1989, they joined Dames & Moore as a Project Biologist until 2000. Kimberly then worked at Pima Center for Conservation Education as a Director from 1989 to 2004, managing educational programs and securing grants. In 2000, they joined WestLand Engineering & Environmental Services as a Senior Project Manager. Their most recent role was as a Short-term Instructor at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law from 2017 to 2020.
Kimberly Otero has a diverse education history. Between the years 1977 and 1979, they attended Duke University, where they obtained a Master's degree in Environmental Management. From 1997 to 2000, Kimberly pursued further education at Chapman University, where they completed a Master's degree in Special Education. In addition, they hold a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Botany from Illinois Wesleyan University. Moreover, Kimberly Otero obtained a certification in Foundations of Leadership from the Eller Executive Education program at the University of Arizona in September 2019.
