Steve Love

Steve is a Geologist by trade with over 12 years’ experience in the coal industry. Steve started his career with Coal Valley Resources Inc., at the Coal ValleyMine in Alberta, Canada, after completing a BSc in Geology Specialization at the University of Alberta.

Working at the Coal Valley and Obed Mountain mines in Alberta, Canada, Steve completed several Exploration and Geology roles before moving into operations, assisting Production Crews and the Coal Wash Plant team in 2013. After several years in operations, Steve was promoted into the Technical Services Group at the mining.

During his tenure at Coal Valley, Steve has held a number of key positions including: Exploration Superintendent, Coal Quality Superintendent, Chief Geologist and Technical Services Manager. Following this successful track record, Steve recently accepted the role of General Manager for the Coal ValleyMine.

Steve is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA) and holds a Permit to Practice Professional Geoscience. Steve is a certified RSO (Radioactive Safety Officer) and is fully ASTM International (American Society for Testing and Materials) Certified.
