Matthias Schmitt

Matthias Schmitt has extensive experience in engineering power transformers, currently serving as an Engineer at Westnetz GmbH since August 2012, where key responsibilities include project management for maintenance measures, diagnostics, procurement, and technical training. Previous roles at RWE Innogy GmbH involved implementation engineering for offshore wind farm projects, including Nordsee-Ost and Galloper. Matthias gained additional experience at Westnetz GmbH from 2008 to 2011, focusing on transformer operation and maintenance while providing technical consulting for offshore wind energy. Prior military service included a role as a Russian translator in the Bundeswehr. Matthias holds a Diplom-Ingenieur in Electrical Engineering and Energy Technology from Hochschule Trier and has further educational qualifications in energy electronics.
