Grant Writer / Former Director Of Institutional Giving & Partnerships at Westport Country Playhouse

Michele Crowley has a strong background in development and fundraising. Michele is currently the Director of Development & Communications at the Stonington Free Library, a position they have held since September 2023. Prior to this, they worked at the Westport Country Playhouse as a Grant Writer and former Director of Institutional Giving & Partnerships starting from March 2020. From 2010 to 2019, Michele worked as a Fundraising Consultant under their own company, Michele Crowley. Michele also served as the Senior Development & Community Engagement Officer at Yale-China Association from November 2016 to September 2019. Before that, they held the position of Director of Institutional Giving at Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford from January 2016 to October 2016. Michele has experience in managing and developing fundraising strategies, as seen in their role as Development Manager at The New Group from November 2014 to October 2015. Additionally, they have worked in various development roles at organizations such as Shakespeare on the Sound, CLEAR by Paul Oakley Stovall, Catholic Charities USA, and the New York Musical Theater Festival.

Michele Crowley obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marine/Urban Affairs from the University of Rhode Island from 1996 to 1998. Additionally, they earned a Certificate in Commercial Theater from the Commercial Theater Institute in 2005.
