Daryl Doss

Contract Broadcast Engineer at Westwood One

Daryl Doss has extensive experience in the technical services and broadcast industry. Daryl started their career in 1986 at CBS Radio Dallas as an Assistant Chief Engineer and also worked at Texas State Networks as an Assistant Chief Engineer from 1986 to 1991. From 1991 to 2001, they worked at Host Communications, Inc. where they served as the Chief Engineer and later as the Manager of the Broadcast Center.

In 2002, Daryl started their own company called Doss Technical Services, where they provided technical services to broadcast companies, specializing in audio engineering, remote broadcast production technical management, studio integration, satellite earth station construction, and system integration.

During the same year, they also worked as a Contract Broadcast Engineer at Westwood One. In 2007, they joined Ka You Systems as the Field Operations Director, a role they held until 2016.

In 2002, they also started working at SiriusXM, first as an Operations Contractor until 2008, and then as a Field Operations Contract Engineer, where they provided broadcast technical support for various remote event broadcasts, implementing leading-edge technology for audio capture and transmission including Dante AOIP networking.

Additionally, Daryl had a brief stint as a Manager at Circuit City from 2002 to 2005.

Overall, Daryl has a diverse and extensive background in technical services, broadcast engineering, and management in the industry.

Daryl Doss began their education at Skyline High School from 1977 to 1981, where they obtained their General Studies degree in computers and math. Daryl then attended DeVry Technology from 1981 to 1982, where they earned an Associate degree in Electronics Engineering. Following that, Daryl enrolled in The University of Texas at Austin from 1983 to 1984, focusing on Electrical Engineering.
