Liana Loewus

Liana Loewus is an experienced education journalist currently serving as the Managing Editor of Reading Universe at WETA since November 2023. Prior to this role, Liana led the education vertical at U.S. News & World Report from January 2022 to October 2023, overseeing strategy and producing story packages related to K-12 and higher education. Liana's career includes significant tenure at Education Week, where responsibilities spanned from Assistant Managing Editor to various editorial roles focused on curriculum, teaching, and educational policy. Liana also strengthened leadership abilities as an Education Policy Fellow at the Institute for Educational Leadership and has a diverse freelance writing background. Liana holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Wesleyan University and a Master of Education in Special Education from the University of Phoenix.
