Lia Song

UX Designer at WEVO

Lia S. has a diverse work experience that spans from 2012 to 2023. Lia started their career as a Research Specialist at the University of Pennsylvania, where they focused on proteins and antibodies purification and examined the protein level in the postmortem brain of Parkinson's disease patients. From 2015 to 2020, Lia worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Penn State College of Medicine, where they analyzed gene expression in the mouse brain and optimized experimental designs for studying neurodegenerative diseases. Lia then joined The National Institutes of Health as a Postdoctoral Fellow from 2020 to 2021, where they created and optimized protocols, conducted surgeries on mice, and led collaborations with other scientists. In 2022, Lia worked at HealingHand Tech as a UX Designer, collaborating with a product design team to redesign a product, benchmark accessibility for stroke survivors, and prioritize user needs. Currently, Lia is a UX Designer at WEVO, starting in 2023.

Lia S. began their education journey by attending Smith College, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience. Following this, they pursued further education in the field by enrolling in the Penn State College of Medicine, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Neuroscience. Additionally, Lia pursued a UI/UX career track at Springboard from 2021 to 2022.
