Courtney Whitcomb

Courtney Whitcomb, CTRS, has extensive experience in recreational therapy and related fields. Currently serving as a Recreational Therapist and Behavioral Health Technician at Wexford Health Sources since September 2016, Courtney facilitates psychoeducational groups for incarcerated women at Logan Correctional Center. Additionally, Courtney has been an Activities Intern at the Illinois Veterans Home since June 2016, where responsibilities include planning and implementing new programs and assisting with care plan meetings. Since August 2014, Courtney has also worked as a Resident Assistant at Western Illinois University, supporting a diverse community of first-year women residents and organizing educational programs. Earlier experience includes serving as a Camp Counselor at Timber Point Outdoor Center from June 2014 to May 2015, leading camp programs and assisting with daily living activities. Courtney holds two Bachelor's degrees from Western Illinois University, one in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Administration with a focus in Recreational Therapy, and another in Therapeutic Recreation/Recreational Therapy.
