Julio Rojas

Julio Rojas is an accomplished forestry professional with extensive experience in production forestry and environmental research. Currently serving as the Director of Production Forestry at Weyerhaeuser since March 2005, Julio Rojas oversees research initiatives across all timberlands businesses in the U.S., focusing on tree growth, silvicultural treatments, and forest management practices' impacts on wildlife and biodiversity. Previous roles include Director of Western Timberlands Technology and Director of Southern Timberlands Technology, where Julio managed various research platforms. Prior to Weyerhaeuser, Julio worked as a Research Forester at Smurfit Kappa Venezuela, conducting silvicultural research. Education includes a PhD in Modeling Silvicultural Treatment and GIS, and a Master's in Forest Nutrition and Genetics, both from North Carolina State University, as well as a degree in Forest Engineering from Universidad de los Andes (VE).
