Associate Director Allied Health Scientific And Technical Primary And Community Acting at Whanganui District Health Board

Barbara Charuk has extensive work experience in various roles within the healthcare and social services sectors. From 2012 to 2015, Barbara worked as a Coordinator for the Violence Intervention Program at the Whanganui District Health Board. Barbara then moved on to the Ministry of Social Development, where they served as a Workforce Lead in the Children's Action Plan Directorate from 2015 to 2016. Barbara later joined Oranga Tamariki–Ministry for Children in 2016 as a Lead Advisor in the Office of the Chief Social Worker/Director Professional Practice until 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Director of Allied Health Scientific and Technical-Primary and Community-Acting at Te Whatu Ora Whanganui since July 2022. In addition, Barbara has also held the role of Portfolio Manager for Maternal Child and Youth at Te Whatu Ora Whanganui from 2019 to June 2022.

Barbara Charuk obtained their Bachelor of Social Work degree from L'Universite de Moncton, where they studied from 1979 to 1983. Barbara'sfield of study during this period is not specified. In 2007, they attended Monash University and completed their Master of Social Work - MSW degree in the field of Social Work in primary care mental health, finishing in 2008.
