Alyssa Kaitlyn Newton

Alyssa Kaitlyn Newton is an Emmy-winning Senior Photojournalist at WHAS-TV with extensive experience in visual storytelling and news coverage. Currently leading the photojournalist staff and serving as a FAA Certified Drone Pilot, Alyssa specializes in Nat packages and long-form storytelling, contributing to special projects and the FOCUS Investigative Team. Previous roles include Multimedia Journalist at Sun Herald and Photojournalist at NBC 15 | WPMI-TV, where Alyssa developed skills in digital content creation, social media, and video editing. A graduate of the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Alyssa has held various editorial positions, including Editor in Chief of The Vanguard Student Newspaper, where leadership and journalistic excellence were demonstrated through multiple award wins.
