Ariel Alvarez is a software engineer who has worked on a variety of projects for different companies. Ariel began their career as a software engineer at Diebold in 1999. From there, they went on to work for OpenText, where they worked on a custom Linux distro, cluster management tools, build tools, and C & Objective-C frameworks. In 2007, they left OpenText to join Apple as a software engineer. While at Apple, they worked on the Safari plug-in and iPhone app for del.icio.us. In 2013, they left Apple to join Upthere as a software engineer. at Upthere, they worked on designing and building a low latency video capture and WebRTC broadcast system for PC games. In 2016, they left Upthere to join Caffeine as a software engineer. at Caffeine, they worked on designing and building a low latency video capture and WebRTC broadcast system for PC games. In 2017, they left Caffeine to join Reckless Cowboys as a game developer. at Reckless Cowboys, they developed Boots on the Ground, a multiplayer FPS. Ariel also prototyped several versions of the game concept in Unreal Engine 4, and 1 version in Unity. In 2021, they left Reckless Cowboys to join Whatnot as a software engineering (Android).
