Murray O'Keefe

Murray O'Keefe has extensive experience in the mining industry, currently serving as Operations Manager at Whitehaven Coal since July 2014, with prior roles as Mining Superintendent and Mining Supervisor. Additionally, Murray has been a Councillor at Gunnedah Shire Council since September 2016. Previous work includes a role as Mining Supervisor at Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd in HCMC from 2008 to July 2014 and as an Operator, focusing on safe and productive mobile plant operations. Early career experience includes serving as a Litigation Paralegal at Hallets Solicitors in 2007. Educational qualifications include a B.Ec/LLB in Economics and Law from the University of New England, several diplomas and certificates in mining operations and management, and completion of the Australian Institute of Company Directors program in 2019.
