Shelley Whitehead

Shelley Whitehead, PhD, MPH, is a seasoned entomologist with extensive experience in medical entomology. Currently serving as an Independent Medical Entomology Consultant at Whitehead Entomology Consulting, LLC since March 2022, Shelley previously held the position of Senior Entomologist at Manatee County Mosquito Control from June 2020 to February 2022. Academic roles include Instructor of Biology at multiple institutions including Spartanburg Methodist College and the University of South Carolina Upstate in early 2020, along with teaching experiences at Penn State University where Shelley also completed a PhD in Medical Entomology. Other relevant positions include laboratory assistant roles at Tulane University and Presbyterian College. Educational qualifications encompass a Doctorate from Penn State University, a Master of Public Health from Tulane University, and dual Bachelor's degrees in Biology and English from Presbyterian College.
