Edward O'Brien

Edward O'Brien has a strong background in fire and emergency management. Edward started their career in 1986 as a Fire Fighter-Deputy Chief for DeKalb County Government and served in that role until 2010. From 2010 to 2013, they worked as the Fire Chief/EMA Director for Dekalb County Ga. Most recently, they have been serving as the Fire Chief for Whitfield County Board of Commissioners since 2014.

Edward O'Brien attended Columbia Southern University from 2007 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Occupational Safety and Health/Fire. Prior to this, in 1994, they completed a program at the Dekalb County EMS Academy and became a Georgia Emergency Medical Technician. Earlier in their education, from 1983 to 1989, Edward attended Dekalb Community College and earned an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in Fire Science. Additionally, they became a Georgia Licensed Master Plumber in 1989.
