Kevin Emery

Kevin Emery has extensive work experience in various roles within the retail industry.

Kevin started their career at WHSmith in 1998 as an Assistant Manager and later became a Store Manager. In 2002, they worked as a Regional Refit Coordinator. From 2003 to 2004, they served as a Store Standards Manager.

In 2004, they joined Staples as a General Manager before returning to WHSmith in 2006. At WHSmith, they held several positions including Commercial Planning Manager for both UK High Street and UK Travel divisions. Kevin was later promoted to Senior Commercial Planning Manager in UK Travel.

In 2018, Kevin became the Head of Construction at WHSmith, where they led a team of internal and external Project Managers in the major refurbishment, Post Office rollout, and concept projects across the High Street estate stores. Kevin successfully implemented cost reduction strategies, value engineering, and process improvements.

In 2019, they became the Head of Construction Programme Management Office, introducing a Project Management Office to support group construction across various WHSmith locations. Kevin implemented standardized processes, tools, and documentation for project delivery.

In 2020, Kevin took on the role of Head of Construction & Maintenance, where they continued to lead complex retail construction and fit-out programs. In 2022, they were promoted to Head of Construction & Group PMO, overseeing the construction and project management office functions for the organization.

Currently, Kevin is serving as the Head of Programme Management Office at WHSmith, a position they started in February 2023.

Kevin Emery obtained the Prince2 certification in Project Management from The Knowledge Academy in 2012. Kevin also obtained 8 GCSEs and 3 A Levels from Maidstone Grammar School between 1984 and 1990. In addition, Kevin received the Prince2 Practitioner certification from APMG in April 2012.
