Shena Kitt has an extensive background in working with organizations that support and advocate for survivors of domestic violence. Shena most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer at Women In Distress of Broward County, Inc., starting in May 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Consultant at The Advocate's Way, LLC, starting in March 2020. Shena also held the role of Residential Director at The Shelter for Abused Women & Children from March 2020 to April 2021. From July 2019 to March 2020, Shena worked as a Community Response Coordinator at the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and from July 2017 to July 2019, they served as a Statewide Program Coordinator at the same organization. Their work experience also includes being a Lead Domestic Violence Advocate at Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center (SPARCC) from April 2012 to July 2017.

Shena Kitt pursued their education at the University of Arizona from 2020 to 2022, where they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management. Prior to that, they attended Liberty University, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Multi-/Interdisciplinary Studies, General.
