David Pye has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. David most recently worked as the Director of Search at Widewail since September 2020. Prior to that, they held the role of Director of SEO Strategy at Cox Automotive from April 2017 to September 2020, where they spearheaded internal SEO efforts and prepared the company for Google's algorithm update. Before that, David worked at Dealer.com as the Director of Digital Marketing - Content Strategy from April 2016 to June 2017 and as the Search Operations Manager from July 2012 to July 2016. David also worked as a Principal and Senior Consultant at ThirstyPony.com Search and Social Media Marketing from January 2006 to July 2012. David completed their high school education at Concord-Carlisle High School from 1988 to 1991, where they enjoyed partaking in post-football game keg parties, although this did not result in any academic degrees. Prior to that, they attended Lorne Park from 1986 to 1988, however, no specific degree or field of study was mentioned for this period. Following their high school education, David enrolled at the University of Guelph from 1992 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History.

In addition to their formal education, David Pye also acquired certifications in digital marketing. In 2004, they became a Google Adwords Qualified Professional, and in 2006, they obtained the Google Analytics Qualified Individual certification, both from Google.
