Christian is a Partner in the firm’s Labor, Employment and Benefits Department in the Washington, DC office. He has over 20 years of experience in executive compensation and employee benefits matters. His significant experience in this area has made him a valued resource for a range of clients across industries, including public and private companies, senior executives, management teams and boards of directors.
Christian’s practice spans the full spectrum of compensation and benefits issues, including the design, implementation, and regulatory compliance of employment agreements, severance arrangements, equity compensation plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, change in control agreements, and tax-qualified plans.
He regularly negotiates the employee benefits aspects of merger and acquisition transactions and routinely advises both companies and individuals on the impact of golden parachute taxes in such transactions.
Christian’s practice also includes counselling clients on compensation-related public disclosure obligations as well as corporate governance matters and best practices.
Immediately before joining Wiggin and Dana LLP, Christian was a Partner at Hogan Lovells US LLP, where he was an executive compensation and employee benefits attorney with a focus on regulated financial institution clients. Previously, Christian was a Partner at Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP.
Christian earned his J.D. cum laude from Boston College Law School, and his B.A. cum laude from Duke University.
