Marissa McDowell has extensive work experience in roles related to account management, media strategy, and sales planning. Marissa started their career in 2011 at H&M, where they served as a Department Supervisor responsible for sales strategies, merchandising, and employee training. Marissa later took on the role of Responsible, focusing on customer service and store maintenance. In 2017, Marissa joined CO•OP as a Digital Marketing Apprentice, gaining skills in SEO, SEM, Google Analytics, and paid social media. Marissa then moved to Swirl, where they initially worked as an Assistant Media Strategist before becoming the Office Experience Manager, overseeing events and maintaining a positive agency environment. Currently, Marissa is employed at Fandom, where they have held various positions such as Sales Planner, Media Strategist, and Account Manager. In their roles at Fandom, they have collaborated with sales teams, developed media plans, and optimized campaign performance to meet client objectives.

Marissa McDowell attended San Francisco State University from 2011 to 2014, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a specialization in Marketing. In 2017, they obtained a Google Adwords Certification from Google.
