Nadee Gunasena

Nadee Gunasena is the Chief of Staff & Director of Executive Communications at the Wikimedia Foundation. Nadee has also worked as a Communications specialist for Summit Learning from May 2017 to April 2019.

Gunasena has extensive experience in media campaigns, crisis communications, and delivering strategic communications advice to public school administrations. Nadee has also been instrumental in developing messaging around how Summit Learning helps develop self-directed learners.

In their current role at the Wikimedia Foundation, Gunasena is responsible for managing the Foundation's executive communications, including media relations, speechwriting, and internal communications. Nadee also serves as the primary liaison between the Foundation and its Board of Trustees.

Nadee Gunasena graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, focusing in East Asia and Japanese. Nadee then went on to study Japanese at Nanzan University.

Nadee Gunasena reports to Maryana Iskander, CEO. Marguerite Lee - Deputy Chief of Staff, Anusha Alikhan - Senior Director of Communications report to Nadee Gunasena. They work with Lisa Seitz-Gruwell - Chief Advancement Officer, Zachary McCune - Director, Brand, and Amanda Keton - General Counsel.
