Tom McCoy

Tom McCoy has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Tom began their career as an Emergency Medicine Physician at Emanuel Medical Center, Inc. from July 2012 to July 2013. Tom then worked as an Emergency Medicine Physician at Sonoma Valley Hospital from July 2012 to July 2016. From July 2016 to January 2021, Tom worked as an Emergency Medicine Physician at Sutter Health. In 2019, they became the Medical Director at The Vital Human Project until May 2022. Tom was also the Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center & Health Centers from July 2006 to May 2022. Additionally, they have held roles as an Affiliate Owner at Chagrin Falls CrossFit LLC since December 2022 and as the Medical Director at Wild Health since February 2022. Currently, Tom is working as the Co-Founder and Clinical Director at 2Be-Human starting in April 2022.

Tom McCoy completed their education in the field of medicine. Tom obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General from California State University - East Bay in the years 2000 to 2002. Following this, they attended Midwestern University (AZ) from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, specializing in Osteopathic Medicine/Osteopathy. Additionally, during their time at Midwestern University, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Bioethics/Medical Ethics from 2002 to 2004.

In terms of certifications, Tom McCoy obtained the Diplomate certification from the American Board of Family Medicine in July 2009. Tom also holds several additional certifications such as Precision Nutrition (obtained in January 2020), Crossfit Nutrition (obtained in January 2022), MDL1 (obtained in August 2018), and Diplomate from the American Board of Obesity Medicine (obtained in January 2023). These certifications demonstrate their commitment to specializing in various aspects of healthcare and nutrition.
