Ram Deivanayagam

Ram Deivanayagam has 8 years of work experience in the field of research and development. Ram began their career in 2011 as a Summer Intern at the National Institute of Technology Calicut. In 2012, they became an Undergraduate Trainee at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. The following year, they completed a Summer Research Fellowship at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and a Summer Internship at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). In 2014, they were a Master's Thesis Researcher and Minor Thesis Student Researcher at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram. From 2016 to 2019, they were a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant and Electrochemistry Training Specialist & Lab Manager, Battery Technology Laboratory at the University of Illinois Chicago. In 2019, they were a Visiting Researcher at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) where they enabled a research collaboration between the Institute of Nanotechnology in KIT and the University of Illinois at Chicago. Ram also gained experience in fabricating cathodes, solid-state full cells, and characterizing magnesium batteries. Currently, they are a Lead Scientist and Scientist at Wildcat Discovery Technologies.

Ram Deivanayagam obtained a dual degree of B.S. and M.S. in Physics Major and Chemistry Minor from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram between 2010 and 2015. Ram then pursued a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago which they completed in 2020.
