Kyle Nush

Kyle Nush is an experienced outdoor guide specializing in hiking and backpacking adventures, currently employed at The Wildland Trekking Company since June 2019. In this role, Kyle leads trips in Great Smoky Mountain National Park and Pisgah National Forest, emphasizing natural history, environmental issues, and outdoor skills while providing clients with knowledge about local flora and fauna and Leave No Trace practices. Prior to this, Kyle served as a Field Guide at New Vision Wilderness, facilitating programming for youth with severe trauma, and held roles as a Crew Leader with NORTH FORK JOHN DAY WATERSHEDCOUNCIL and a Naturalist Guide with the Appalachian Mountain Club, where Kyle developed programs on environmental education and outdoor skills. Kyle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science, Geography, Earth Science, and GIS from Carthage College and is certified in Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness First Aid, and CPR.
