Carl Schou

CEO & President at Wilhelmsen group

Carl Schou is the current CEO and President of the Wilhelmsen group. Prior to this, Carl was the VP of Marine Personnel at Wilhelmsen Ship Management from January 2005 to December 2008. In this role, Carl was responsible for WSM's Marine Personnel business area which consisted of 15 offices in 12 different countries, 200+ shorebased employees, and 11000 seafarers.

Before their time at Wilhelmsen Ship Management, Carl was the Managing Director at Techmar Systems AS from January 2004 to December 2005. Techmar Systems AS is a small software company which developed computer-based maintenance systems for the maritime industry. As one of the founders, Carl was responsible for business development/sales - and support services to Clients.

From January 1997 to December 2004, Carl was the Director Maritime/Technical Operations at Dyvi AS. Dyvi AS is a small-medium sized shipping company with 8 vessels ranging from Car Carriers (PCTC) to semi-submersible heavy-lift vessels. In this role, Carl managed a department consisting of superintendents, procurement, crewing and insurance. Carl was also responsible for all maritime operations and budgetary goals.

Carl Schou is a Maritime Engineer from the Maritime University. Carl also has a degree in High Performance Leadership from IMD and a degree in Executing Strategy for Results from the London Business School. Carl also has a Master of Management Programme in Managerial Economics from the Norwegian School of Management-BI / Executive School and a Master of Management Programme in Project Management from the Norwegian School of Management-BI / Executive School.
