Matt Stangel

Matt Stangel is an experienced writer and critic specializing in the cannabis industry and visual arts. Currently serving as an Oregon Product Specialist at Leafly since June 2018, Stangel produces weekly articles on Oregon's cannabis market. In addition, Stangel has contributed as a Cannabis Critic for Willamette Week since February 2017, penning a monthly column titled "Willamette Weed" alongside various print contributions. Stangel's previous experience includes roles as a Visual Art Critic and Essayist for Oregon ArtsWatch, a Feature Writer and Visual Arts Critic at Portland Mercury, Managing Editor and Music Journalist at IntoTheWoods.TV, and an Intern/Feature Writer at Style Weekly Magazine. Stangel holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Virginia Commonwealth University, earned in 2008.
